About us.
We all share an interest in roads and infrastructure and use this to keep everyone informed on roadworks and issues in the area. We also share road safety advice to keep everyone using the roads safe.
In addition to this, we offer support to emergency services, recovery operators and the highways authority in a number of ways such as providing 'fend offs' and emergency traffic management to stranded vehicles to allow recovery operators to work safely and be an 'extra pair of eyes' in safety critical situations.
In times of inclement weather, we provide support and real time traffic information in the event of floods or fallen trees caused by strong winds. By doing so, we can confirm reports from members of the public to enable highways to manage their resources efficiently and not have to send a crew when not needed by clearing debris or trees from the highway when safe and practical to do so.
When collisions occurred in the past, we have assisted police by manning road closures or providing protection to stranded vehicles until recovery arrives. This then frees up police officers and vehicles to attend to other incidents. With our liveried vehicles, we can also tow vehicles to a safe place which reduces the risk of harm and also keep delays and disruption to an absolute minimum.
PLEASE NOTE, WE HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH THE EMERGENCY SERVICES OR ANY LOCAL AUTHORITIES, ALL OF OUR WORK IS DONE ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS WITH THE INTENTION OF HELPING THE COMMUNITY.
Our vehicles are equipped with high viibility markings and lighting to help us to be safe and seen.
We also carry road signs and traffic cones to assist with managing traffic at incidents. In addition to this, they are fitted with variable message signs to inform the public of hazards.
Some of our vehicles carry defibrillators too - hopefully we'll never need them but if we do, we have one just in case!
